Let It Snow

This Tuesday was accompanied by the first significant snow fall this year. Our last two winters have been unusually warm. As a result, we have not had nearly as much snow as in past years. Nonetheless, snow has begun to fall.

James and David had a wonderful time in the snow on Tuesday. They participated in all the classic snow activities including building a snowman, making snow angels, and pelting each other with snow balls in an all out snow ball fight.

Snow truly is a wonderful thing. The intricate shapes of snow flakes and the soft cottony sheets of snow on the ground are a testimony of the beauty of God. In accordance with Job 38:22, the snow truly is God's treasury.

"Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow?
or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,"
-Job 38:22

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Happy New Year. May God bless you in the year 2015! A lot has happened in these last three months.

In November we celebrated James's 16th birthday. We had a small celebration on the 18th with just our family. The following Saturday, we invited the Reaves family to celebrate with us and enjoyed eating a delicious dinner and a pizza cake. We finished up the evening with some games and good fellowship.

Christmas was very quite and peaceful this year. On Christmas Eve we enjoyed the evening together as a family and eat snack foods while watching Christmas classics such as Frosty the Snowman, and The Grinch the Stole Christmas, to name a few. We celebrated Christmas day with just our family. In the morning, we read the story of Christ's birth and exchanged presents, then in the evening we enjoyed a delicious, traditional Christmas dinner with turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes, and broccoli casserole.

Two days after Christmas, we celebrated David's 14th birthday. On the 27th we celebrated with a Mexican lunch, including tacos, casadias, and chips with all the fixings, followed by present opening, and finally bowling with the Reaves family.

On the evening of the 31st, we began our countdown to the new year. We spent the evening together watching a movie, eating snack foods, and enjoying the neighborhood fireworks. There is nothing like the experience of a 360° public firework display at the stroke of midnight. We even set off some of our own fireworks this year.

Please pray for us in this new year. Please pray that God blesses the ministry and that more Czechs would come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
